MR02: Ratatouille

I introduce the movie Ratatouille. It is an animation movie. This movie’s character is a rat. His name is Remy and he lived a small house with his family and friends. He is a genius rat because he had an excellent taste and smell. And his cooking talents are amazing. In addition he can understand language. He admires chef Gusteau and he wants to be a chef like him.

One day, he floated by storm and he arrived Gusteau’s restaurant in Paris. Remy met Linguini there. He worked as a garbage boy in Gusteau’s restaurant. He has no cooking talents. They decided to work with each other because Remy helped to cook the soup Linguini made. Linguini called Remy ‘little chef’. Thanks to Remy, this restaurant became popular again. But various problems came up. First, it is successor problem. Skinner and Remy had a fight. Remy got the will that made Linguini the owner of the restaurant. Second, it is fight with Anton Ego. He is a harsh food critic. He criticized Guesteau and the rating of his restaurant was lowered. Ego went to Gusteau’s restaurant and ordered a dish. Remy cooked ratatouille with his family and friends. Ego impressed by the dish and he wrote good review. But the restaurant closed because it was found out that rats were there. They opened a new restaurant. It is a restaurant for both human and rat. They will spend a happy life.

This movie is very interesting. I was impressed Gusteau’s word which was ‘everyone can cook’. Rat also have right to cook. I do not know a rat can cook in the world but to cook is freedom. We do not have a right not to criticize. If rat can cook, I will be surprised and little scared but I want to meet them. And I want to be good friends like Remy and Linguini. Ratatouille is very interesting so I recommend this movie to everyone.
